At Sammy’s Pet Poppins, based just outside Kimbolton in Keysoe, we provide professional, caring and fully insured pet services tailored to your busy life and your pet’s needs. With over 45 years of hands-on experience with dogs, horses and a wide range of other pets and farm animals, you can trust that your animals are in capable and compassionate hands.
We offer a wide range of services designed to support pets of all kinds, including dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles and livestock. Our dog walking service includes one-to-one or small-group walks, as well as field exercise sessions held in a fully enclosed, fully insured local dog field (Holly Lodge in Upton) with toilets and a café on-site. We also run weekday and weekend dog socialisation sessions for puppies through to adults, suitable for all breeds and sizes.
Our service list includes pet sitting and “Pet Poppins” home visits for holiday cover, feeding, cleaning and general care. We also provide fully insured pet taxi services for vet visits, groomers and pet crematorium appointments when you cannot drive or prefer to have a professional assist with travel.
For pets approaching the end of their life, we offer gentle and compassionate end-of-life support, including help with vet visits and aftercare arrangements. We aim to be a calm, reassuring presence during difficult times.
Additional offerings include summer dog swimming sessions, pet photography, pet calendars and seasonal social events such as adult Christmas parties. These extras help create a warm community feel and give owners fun ways to celebrate life with their pets.
We also provide doggy day care and overnight care for registered customers, giving pets a safe and comfortable environment while you’re away. As an Anco and Burns Natural Treats stockist, we can supply high-quality natural treats too.
Every service is DBS checked, fully insured and delivered by a qualified first-aid-trained handler. Regular updates, photos and communication ensure you always know how your pets are doing.

Sammy- pet sessions at Holly Lodge fields. Sammy is a very conscientious dog enthusiast- as others have said, she is careful to match your dog to the most appropriate socialising session so that you, your and the other pooches have the opportunity to get the most from the relaxed sessions. Our (rehomed) Lab doesn’t really know how to play, we met with Sammy independently so she could advise on which sessions would suit him best- not too busy etc., so he wasn’t overwhelmed, etc. Due to work commitments we cannot get to them regularly but Sammy always welcomes us openly.
Sammy runs a dog social on weekdays and Saturdays at Holly Lodge Dog Fields. The sessions are held on the 3 or 6 acre field which is fully enclosed with parking at the gate. Sammy’s sessions have helped my rescue Rusty find more confidence and become more sociable with dogs and the people who attend these sessions. I highly recommend these sessions run by Sammy Pet Poppins.
I moved to Kimbolton last year, having left an amazing dog walker. I didn’t think I would find anyone who loved my pooches as much as I do, but I found that in Sammy! She is lovely and amazingly flexible coming at last minute and squeezing us in. I lost my beloved old girl earlier this year to cancer and Sammy went above and beyond and came to the vets with me as my partner was away. She even helped me get my girl cremated. We have a puppy now and again Sammy has adapted brilliantly. She runs doggy socials but ensures she gets to know the dogs and won’t allow the wrong sizes to mix (no bouncy ones with nervous ones). Through Sammy I have an amazing trusted dog walker and friend, and have met other friends which has made my transition to a new area so much easier.
Have recently started joining her dog social sessions on a Wednesday evening (summertime) and on a Saturday morning. She does a selection of groups eg puppy, medium/large & big/bouncy. I have a 15 month old dobermann, Rosie she loves her sessions and is thoroughly thriving meeting and socialising. I definitely recommend Sammy Pet Poppins. She also does a dog treat tuck shop where you can pre order or buy on the Saturday session (weather permitted) Rosie not only thrives at her sessions but also loves the huge selection of treats Sammy has to offer. Sammy is very friendly and makes me feel comfortable with my dog there as the sessions are tailored where as other places I feel on edge. 100% recommend.
Sammy is fantastic, she is so knowledgeable and caring and understanding. She is also extremely conscientious with and professional. Both my dogs adore her, and so do my friends’ pets. 100 per cent recommended.
